Our little Quilt Group got together yesterday.
We always have SO much fun!!!
Here are some of the projects the Chicks are working on...
This is the finished quilt top from the "Ugly Fabric" scrappy quilt class.
That Terri and I took at Thimbles and Threads Quilt store last month.
But...it's not mine...I'll bet THAT'S a surprise to you?...
It's Terri's... Her top turned out so pretty!
We had to hang it over the banister on the second floor because it's so large.
The next several rag quilts are Terri's. She says that
she always has many stacks of 6" squares ready to
stitch for baby quilts...
The next two photos of purses are also Terri's
she machine quilts all of fabrics for her bags and purses.
The next two photos are of a pretty
soft green crochet blanket made by
D'Ann.
D'Ann found this pretty little doll...lonely and with
out clothes...the doll, NOT D'Ann..lol
The little doll's new outfit is all hand crochet.
Isn't she sweet? Yes...I'm talking about the doll again.
But, D'Ann is also VERY sweet!
The following several photos are of a special quilt...with a special story.
My friend Maxine and her two sisters...each made
three of the dress blocks and exchanged with each other.
The fabrics they used meant a lot to them because...
the special fabrics came from their mom's fabric stash...
(Their mom passed away a few years ago)
Maxine chose to have her 2 daughters and her daughter-in-law
each make dress blocks for the quilt too. Maxine also added
a few more blocks to make the quilt larger.
The dresses are machine appliqued. Each dress has double needle stitching
to create more detail to the dresses.
It is machine stippled thru out the entire quilt on a long-arm.
To add furtherdefinition to the dresses, Maxine is machine stitching
the entire outline of each dress on her home sewing machine.
We had deli sandwiches, fruit, veggies with humus dip,
brownies with mint frosting...and Lindt chocolates.
Beautiful handworks...Good Food...
GREAT COMPANY!
