When sharing your handwork...
that you've so painstakingly created...
Don't disclose or show (what you might think are) errors.
Those looking at your "works of art" probably won't notice what you do.
...unless you are drawing attention to the mishaps.
AND...if they are going to
get out their magnifying glasses to inspect your
"works of art"....then,

They should be whipped thoroughly with at least
several yards of rolled up batting!
Besides...your "mistakes" aren't life threatening so you don't need
to warn others of dangers ahead...
YIKES!
Take a look at THIS mistake in design...
It might be best if you say ...
to yourself...under your breath...or, in a quiet whisper.
So here's just a weee leeeetle suggestion...
Next time you feel the urge... to speak out about
a discrepancy (or 2 or 3) in your
ARTWORK...try the little saying below.
...many a great idea or great design has come about from
mess-ups in the original idea!

I always say my mistakes are the little extra bit of love added to each piece. And besides, that's what makes them originals :D
Mistakes what Mistakes I dont see any do you. The funny thing is, I had one customer that actually did pull out her magnifying glass (Im sure) to find a cross over stitch. Gees talk about critical. I told her that was just a little extra stitching that I dont charge for. There's always one in a bunch, but I dont stress over one.
I don't mind sharing my mistakes on my blog...unless they are really bad. And if its horrible I don't mind getting mad and throwing it away. That really isn't a good thing to do I guess. LOL
What I think is funny is most quilters all make mistakes but no one else notices....so they point out their own mistakes...when we are sharing at club, retreats or classes we always share our mistakes. No one would ever notice so shhhh don't tell....
I read somewhere that the Amish intentionally put a mistake in their quilting to make it "theirs" - since they are restricted on colors, patterns, etc. They call it "sparkle"..... and so do I! I even named one quilt "Sparkle Plenty" because it had so many errors in it! But it was beautiful....
Too laugh - yes, ladies, don't show or point out mistakes. Unless...... it is a published pattern that everyone has rushed out to buy - and there is a serious cutting error! I tend to 'design' on little slips of paper, envelopes, napkins --- and sometimes bits get mislaid or I pick up a note for another 'idea' - go with the roll - it's all potential design.
Sometimes mistakes lead me in the best directions! What a great post.....why do we want to point out the flaws? I try not to, but it's difficult!
I'm always aware of how I should have done something, but sometimes I see that even though I didn't do something perfectly, I still did it nicely. A blogger friend told me that it's not done wrong, just different.
Very sage advice. I only admit my mistakes to My Guy, who usually looks at it and asks "Why is it a mistake." At that point I quit worrying about it.
"mistakes" are what gives my projects their character! Sometimes I leave a "mistake" just to see if anyone else will notice.
