It's a MYSTERY to me how fast
December is zipping by...and...I have a question for
YOU!
It's almost Christmas 6 days left to get ready...
OMGOSH!
(I'm hoping I won't have a belly like this after the holidays!)
I don't know about you. But, I get sooo many anxieties that
seem to want to hang out with me during the Christmas season.
Really... I DO love the season...but, well...
I have tried, as I've gotten older to simplify. I do things much
simpler than I did when our kids were at home and most of
the family lived near-by.
But, the anxieties...they still seem to hang out with me.
So...for today's Mystery Monday.... to WIN*...
5 Fat Quarters AND this wonderful book...
I have a question for you!
First, tho, here is a bit about this great book,
that you could win.
“It has been said that sometimes the greatest hope in our lives is just a second chance to do what we should have done right in the first place. This is the story of my second chance.”
—Prologue of Lost December
When Luke Crisp graduates from business school, his father, CEO and co-founder of Fortune 500 Crisp’s Copy Centers, is ready to share some good news: he wants to turn the family business over to his son. But Luke has other plans. Taking control of his trust fund, Luke leaves home to pursue a life of reckless indulgence. But when his funds run out, so do his friends. Humbled, alone, and too ashamed to ask his father for help, Luke secretly takes a lowly job at one of his father’s copy centers. There he falls in love with a struggling single mother and begins to understand the greatest source of personal joy. So, friends, here is my question to YOU....please, leave a comment.
ARE YOU READY FOR CHRISTMAS?
Who?...me? Maybe you might be asking, if I am
ready?
EEEEK...I would have to say NOPE
I've done most of my shopping. But, there is
still a considerable amount of things to do to...to be finished...
before I can say, I am completely ready. Yikes...and I'm still blogging?
A girl has to have her stress relief...right?
*must be a follower to win =)
**contest ends Saturday Dec 24th midnight MT**

I am not ready for Christmas. I still need to finish the quilt I "gave" to my mother last year. I think I have almost done the quilting and need the binding on.
Then there are the pillows that will go with it for this year.
Then the wrapping of presents.
At least dinner is at my brothers so I do not have to worry about cooking.
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway as always.
I hate to say, but I am ready. I even went out this morning and got the last of the grocery items rather than wait for Weds. I am doing Pot Roast w/potato&carrots. Daughter is bringing the bread/rolls and what the little ones can eat (food allergies), SIL has the deserts. This is what they wanted to do and that's fine by me. Charity gifts were done some time ago and all delivered, neighbor gifts delivered, and just had to shop for the little ones and that was done - we 'oldies' don't exchange.
No I'm not ready yet, but I think I'm going to make it! thanks for the chance,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I'M READY,BUT ONLY BECAUSE I NEED TO SHIP MANY OF MY GIFTS+THEY DEMAND A CERTAIN EARLY DATE FOR ARRIVAL BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
THANKS FOR SHARING AGAIN!
Yes, but not really - I still have to finish one binding and wrap presents and do a little baking, but I am ready for Christmas to be here! Can't wait to see everyone! Thanks for the giveaway and Merry Christmas!
I have 3 more evenings to sew and I will need every minute. I will probably get less than 8 hours of sleep each night. Then on Thursday night laundry and packing and we hit the road on Friday morning. DH came down with a cold yesterday. I hope I can avoid that. Thanks for the giveaway and Merry Christmas.
No of course I'm not ready! but it'll all be OK by the weekend!! I just need to go and collect the tree!
Thanks Annie!
I'm ready enough! If I was really, truly, organizedly ready my family would think I'd been abducted and replaced an Alien Invader :)
Good luck with the rst of yur preparations!
Finishing the binding on a couple of small quilts and then I'll be done. I've spent a lot of the last 2 weeks sewing, and have enjoyed every minute of it. Having an unshakeable deadline has been a great excuse for sewing as much as I want (which is a Christmas present for ME). Merry Christmas!
I thought I was nearly ready and then I discovered I have 3 aprons, 4 neck pillows and if my little boy has his way a quilt to make. The first 7 may get done...I'm not sure on the quilt. The tricky thing is that he decided to give the quilt I made for him to his sister because she LOVES It. So she gets 2 quilts and he gets.....I have to come up with something that I make for him. Yikes! I keep remembering though that it will all work out regardless. This year we carved pumpkins the day AFTER Halloween and it was still ok. I don't know how it was, but still it was. Christmas isn't Halloween--so I'm sure I won't get to stretch it that far, but I take a breath and realize that it will all be ok.
Are you kidding? One DD got home yesterday, another arrives today, s-i-l, niece and nephew arrive on Wednesday. I don't have a tree, I've done no baking, I'm just starting to make my menu up and I'm still sewing.... I do have most of my presents bought though :)
The shopping is done but the projects are still piled high and deep. Hopefully I'll get a few more things scratched off the list tonight. I planned a lot less projects this year and I'm still behind. What's up with that?
Not quite ready. We have one more trip to be ready for Christmas Eve mid-day when we have our family get-together. Grocery store and one present is all left to do. If push-came-to-shove, we could rock-n-roll as we are! Isn't that grand! Merry Christmas.
I am ready for Christmas, but only because I had to have surgery in the middle of the month! Usually I'm sewing and wrapping right up until midnight on Christmas eve..... so maybe I've learned something this year!
No way I am ready...I still have cards to send, a wall hanging to finish and the last few presents to buy. I'm quietly confident I will get it all done now as school has finished and I have nothing else planned for the next few days except to get ready for Christmas...let's see how I go!
I'm more or less ready. Spent the day yesterday making six batches of biscuits. Then bagged them up into nice Christmas bags along with almond bread I made last week. All the pressies are wrapped and under the tree. Just have to prepare the dessert for Christmas day but can't do that until Saturday. Will have to do a little bit to help Santa on Christmas Eve but hopefully that won't take too long! Have a lovely Christmas! xx
I am ready for Christmas. The gifts are purchased and hidden, but not wrapped. I'll do that tomorrow while the little one is in school. Decoations are done except for the stockings. The litlle one will help me get and hang them tomorrow morning. I'm done with working for the week. Now, let it snow!
I think I will be ready for christmas, I have to finish a quilt for my Mom, but I know I will get it done :-)
We are trying to get ready for our annual Christmas trip to my folks,Granddaughters Great Grandma. I still have so much to finishup sewing, plus the dinner for our daughters. They can't go with us, so we have a celebration of our own. And of course I am a follower.
I have most of my shopping done, none of my wrapping done. I need to buy something for my 82 year old mother and have no idea what to get her. I am thinking about gift cards, but that is so much like money. I am at a loss. Do you have any ideas?
Um..... no! Do I need to say more??
Proud to say YES! I am ready for Christmas ! Just finished my baking today. Shopping done , everything is wrapped . Whoo Hoo !
MERRY CHRISTMAS !
Other than picking up a few things for dinner and finishing up my wrapping...I AM ready for Christmas!!! It's a miracle!
not totally ready but getting close as far as presents. now...as for decorating--NOPE! hopefully, i'll get more than one lone ornament on our tree this year. thanks for the opportunity and have a great day
I'm a follower.
I am ready for Christmas, except for wrapping a few presents and doing some baking for Christmas Eve and Day.
Thanks for a chance to win.

On the one hand: NO. I had a long, long list of people for whom I was going to make hand-crafted gifts. Many of those are not completed. On the other hand: YES. The shipping deadline has passed. I don't buy many gifts, other than books, and those are all purchased and sent. The gifts that were ready for mailing are mailed. Everything else will be a Happy New Year gift, or a Happy Valentine's Day gift, or an especially thoughtful birthday present. So there you go. That's how I roll...
I am just about ready for Christmas and am ready for it to be over. I want my house back to normal! :). Thanks for the awesome giveaway.
Heck no! I'm still working on some cards, and might do a little more baking. But the high pressure stuff is done. All gifts are shipped. All handmade gifts are made. I should be working on cards right now, but I've already resigned myself to the fact that they'll be late this year.
All my great ideas of gifts to make (potholders, mug rugs, a QUILT!) have gone by the wayside. No time. I think my family will still love me even if they don't get a handmade gift. Maybe their next birthday.....
Heavens NO!!! I have two quilts to finish, grocery shopping and baking to do! Whooo I am going to be a sewing fiend for the next few days.
Hi Annie! I'm done, even put my sewing machine away so I don't get tempted to start something at the last minute [sure to make me feel like a failure!]. Thursday mum and I will be putting on our Santa aprons and baking hundreds of cookies, but that's it! We're having a VERY simple Christmas, nobody really needs anything, most are getting cookies.
Our tree isn't even up, not sure if it will be. Still don't know who's having dinner or WHAT'S for dinner, and nobody really cares as long as we're together. My usual panic, I've discovered, is more a state of mind - it's not about how many gifts I make, it's just whether or not I'm there.
By the way, have you read The Walk? EXCELLENT BOOK! I wish he'd write faster, lol. Don't put me in the give-away though, I'm giving them up. Go make a nice hot cup of hot chocolate, turn the tree lights on, and just enjoy!!!
Very nearly. I am still sewing but I definitely am further ahead this year than most years!
I am ready in the sense that whatever I am working on this week can be finished or not finished. If it is not finished I will put it out next year. The food is sorted. Just some chicken and salad. Drinks are sorted - cocktails with fruit or rum and coke. I don't make cookies but we will all make some cup cakes before lunch and have some fun decorating them. Presents are all there. They just need to be wrapped. As long as we all get to sit around and talk and laugh the day is a success.
I am in no way ready for Christmas so I might skip it all together! You can do that when you don't have kids!
Congrats to Shannon!
No, I'm not ready for Christams. Everything is bought but not all is wrapped. We aren't decorating much this year as our Christmas will be very small with just our daughter and SIL here for two days.
Merry Christmas to you, Annie!!!!
Not really ready for Christmas - but there is still time! Thanks for the chance! I'm a follower.
I still have some wrapping to do but everything else is set in place..Thanks for the chance to win
Merry Christmas!!!
I AM READY! Yay, count down to the day now.. I'm already take off from my job and back to my hometown for the celebration.
Finish setting up the Christmas tree, finish buying the presents and wrapping them :)
Yes! I have been slowly shopping for months and have everything bought, wrapped, cooked, and decorated. Wahoo!! Enjoying the Christmas love and family now. Thanks for the chance.
If Christmas was today, then no I'm not ready ... BUT I will be ready by Saturday noon :) Happy Holidays!
I hope to be ready... still trying to do those last minute things. Thanks for the chance!!
I only have to wrap presents and put together my boys' big present and we will be ready! Guess thats pretty good since we have 3 days until its Christmas!
No! I am not ready. I have not had the spirit of the season this year. I have all the gifts to wrap yet, I am still working on some pillows, I have some baking to do. Thankfully, my daughter has stepped up to the plate, and said she would host this year, so I just have to bring something for dinner.
I'm ready and I'm a follower. Thanks for the great giveaway. : )
Just have a little of the last minute housecleaning to do. Everything else is ready. However, I haven't yet done Christmas cards, but am not going to stress about it. If they go out after Christmas, that's ok.
I'm mostly done the big glaring exception is my sister's quilt that I have two days to quilt...where did my time go.
I`m not reay .Some food to buy and wrap some presents. Thanks for the chance to win.
Merry Chrsitmas!
No I'm not ready yet... Gifts need to be wrapped, a couple more need to be made/purchased, goodies need to be made, food needs to be purchased. I wish I could just rewind and start the month over... But I guess I'll just fly by the seat of my pants. I plan to get done earlier each year & then I just procrastinate.
Thanks for a chance to win! I'm a follower! :) Merry Christmas to you!
My son is having Christmas at his home this year for all of us, my daughter did my Christmas shopping, and DH helped me with the Christmas Cards.....easy year. I'm ready.
I am a follower now. =) I am ready, but I have to admit that I don't have much to do to get ready. No small children, sent the few Christmas cards already, no shopping to do, food is all planned and purchased. So the next few days, my only task is delivering some food for a missionary dinner tomorrow, and then, whatever I want.
I don't feel ready..always thinking of someone else maybe I could have blessed. Then I remember it's not OUR birthday anyway. Trying to remember to just enjoy family and friends this season vs pressures of commercialism.
Thank you again for the give away.

Yes, I am ready ;-) I am hoping to make up a few hot pads this afternoon for sister, nieces & SIL and that will be me done! looking forward to spending time with the family.
I thought I was until I remembered that I need to let Father Christmas know that the children need clothes for their stocking and their sizes!!!
Other than that I am ready, need to wrap the presents and do the cooking on Christmas Day but otherwise I am ready - if I say it enough times I might even convince myself!!!!
Oh, sad to say, No. I'm not ready for the 25th! How did this year fly by so fast, not to mention December. I did my first shopping yesterday, got a few items. Still more gifts to buy and groceries to get as well.
Thank you for your giveaway and a chance to win.

If I had posted yesterday I would have said Nope - not ready but as of this afternoon, I AM ready for Christmas. All bought, wrapped & under the tree - Yipeeeeee. I love Richard Paul Evans books & of course I love FQ's!! Thanks for the chance to win.
I am going in a few hours to get food to make from Christmas appetizers at my sister's house. First time not at my parent's house. Although I have all gifts kind of in check, I always feel like I could have done more. I did not put up a tree this year and that has me feeling weird. Thank you for the giveaway ^^
I'm almost ready for the activities Christmas Day...almost, but then we have to prepare for the company that arrives the following weekend. It's sort of a prolonged celebration for us and that just makes it nicer!
I'm as ready as I will ever be. I no longer make myself crazy asking or answering that question. We attend Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, have a small dinner (my 2 children, my son's girlfriend, and my husband) Christmas Day and a few gifts. A low key celebration suits us. The only thing over the top about our Christmas celebration is the decorating. My husband loves to put up every decoration we have accumulated over the 39 years we have been married.
