My friend Maxine made this really cute quilt. She used the
and the heart die which has...2", 3", 4" hearts.
She told me that all of the hearts were cut from
scraps she had around. Wow! Great way to use scraps.
She did the echo quilting on her Bernina 440 with stitch regulator
and using the #55 roller foot.
The echo-quilting is soooo cool! The striped pink and red
binding is like the icing on the cake!
I was asking my friend, Maxine, if she really liked the Baby GO...or if she
thought it was a bit small. She said she really loves it because it is SO
portable. She can take it easily to her granddaughter's house to make fun
things with them...like fabric flowers cut on the Baby GO to make pretty
hair accessories. She also said that the portability of the "baby" was easier
to use when she was teaching. She has taught many classes using the
Accuquilt dies to make fabric flower to cut out appliques for machine
embroidery. Maxine works and teaches classes at one of my favorite places
Maxine found the pattern and instructions for her heart quilt at the
..where you can down load it for free.

and link to the free pattern
~~A special thanks to my good friend for sharing her quilt with me
so that I could share it with YOU!
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~
I have a larger cutter...the Studio and I have used my cutter to cut a
BUH-zillion 5" squares...for swaps and just for some regular quilting
projects. Ok, maybe a buh-zillion is a bit of an exageration...but,
only a BIT. =P
Do YOU use an Accuquilt fabric cutter? If so, which one
do you have and what fun things have you made using your
"die-cut" fabric shapes?
It's a bit of a secret...I'm not supposed to tell.
But, I can hint that there just might be something really special
"GO"...ing
to happen here on Rubyslipperz...in a week or so.
This quilt is beautiful. I love the quilting. I don't have a Go....but Oh, I wish I did!! It would make cutting so much easier!! Happy Valentines day!!! I hope you have a wonderful day!
What Suzanne said! Annie, this quilt is beautiful thanks for all the sharing. I've got to practice my machine quilting.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank you for this post. I don't have any GO's or any other cutting machines and boy would I so put one to use!
Pret-ty! I have a Baby and it's great, when I get a chance to cut. I have so many UFOs demanding quilting that I don't get to use it too much!
Isn't that the sweetest!! I don't have a Go - either size, but would love one for our class ladies.
Way to GO Maxine....luv the quilt. I don't have a GO but it is on the top of my wish list....has been for awhile. I've tried many many times to win a GO but no luck and there are not many of the GO Giveaways in blogland anymore. I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy one...If you were to buy one again would you still choose the Studio or go smaller and get the regular GO??? The Baby GO is always good for the quilter on the 'GO'.
Happy Valentines Day Annie...(o:
The quilt and the quilting is beautiful!
I got a Go! for Christmas (not the Go!Baby, but the regular one). I have only had time to use it to cut out squares for a scrap quilt, but it was so easy to use and so much fun! I can't wait to have more time to experiment with it!
The heart quilt is just gorgeous and her echo quilting is amazing!!!!
I do not use the cutter, but I have seen some amazing quilts using them.
Wow! That is so beautiful!
I love Maxine's quilt!
Love the Heart quilt,and the quilting is amazing.
I got the Studio Go for Christmas and I love it! I just ordered the Heart die, kind of late for this Valentines, but not for next year! Yesterday I worked on my Apple Core die and today I used the 4 3/4 triangle and the 3 1/2 inch triangle to make flying geese! I love the ease of using this machine. The geese all came from scraps. It is so much fun, I barely have enough time to sew what I cut up!
Nope, don't have one, but I've been watching videos on it and wishing I did lol.
Maxine's quilt is just gorgeous!
I like the quilt. Happy Valentines Day!!
That quilt is so pretty!
I have the Baby Go and use it quite often to cut hexies. I have a few other dies but really don't use them very often.
Happy Valentine's Day, Annie!!
I have a GO! and love it:) I made a fleece scarf with the rag die that was super simple. I appliqued hearts(made with the heart die) on my daughter's sweatshirt for valentine's day and it turned out very cute. Hope to use it for a quilt in the future but in the meantime I love using it for simple projects. I highly recommend the "Wearables on the Go!" book for non-quilty projects.
I dream of having a GO! and that heart quilt is gorgeous.
Oh tell Maxine that I just LOVE her work. AMAZING! I need to take a class from her on echo quilting! It looks really difficult! I miss you guys having fun without me at Dave's Bernina classes!
That is a beautifully done quilt.
Fab-u-lous quilt!
I'm torn about the GO! I think I'd like to have one, but I don't applique much and I paper piece most of my other blocks.
That quilt is really cute. I don't have anything that cuts shapes other than my rulers and my rotary cutter but since I have yet to get into applique at all so far, I don't have a need yet. But one never knows, I may find a project that I can't live without making.
Love the "I have a secret" photo! And the quilt, of course. I've been intrigued with fabric cutters - good the hear reports about them.
Hi, Annie. Really adorable quilt--and the quilting enhances the design so much.
best, nadia
I love the Valentines Quilt. The echo quilting works very nicely. It would be a great addition in my sewing studio if I had a Baby or Studio Go Cutter. Maybe one of these days.
I have made that quilt...yours looks so much nicer than mine! It is a fun one to do too.
