A banner update and back to school...

I remember when my kids were this little and starting back to school.

Does anyone remember this movie with these
"famous" students?
I'd love it if you left comments with their names, if you
know who they are =)

Do you have any kids or family members going off to
college (maybe away from home for the first time)?

When I was a mom...with kids going back to school, I looked at
the new school year as a time for me to kind of regroup.
I was going to miss them.  But...
I could get back into a routine.  I could revive goals that I'd been
slacking during the summer when the kids were home.

Do you have thoughts about the "back-to-school" time?
Maybe if you no longer have kids at home...maybe there are memories?

-----------------

I'm looking to re-enter blogland...fire up the blogging juices.
I'm hoping there will be some old friends come back to visit...maybe some
new friends too.

====================

from me...to YOU!

Glad to see you back.
The Breakfast Club one of my fave movies from the 80's Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez; and Molly Ringwald.
I loved that movie. Closely followed by St Elmos Fire.

Yes, it is back to routine time! I have those same memories from raising my children. Loved the unstructured summer, but also loved the routine when school started up again. Yes, glad to see you back. Can't wait to see some of your projects.

Hi, Annie. I found that just having grandkids over the summer put me back about twenty years to the "good ol' days". Now they're gone, I still skype with them to help with homework so the back-to-school routine and change of season still feels the same. I suppose it helps to organize time...maybe!
best, nadia

There you are! Been missing you. Yes we have college bound grandchildren and one finishing her last year of high school and one starting middle school. Don't know what the kids are doing but know their parents are going nuts!

Can I tell you I spent a summer babysitting a kid and EVERY day when he mapped this movie was on cable! Well we did NOT have cable so it was a novelty to me! So yes I spent every day with the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal!

Glad you are back. Yes, loved the Breakfast Club! My little ones got put on the bus by the babysitter, then at some point I drove them and some of the neighbor kids as we had trouble with the busing and then they grew up and drove themselves. Now the grands - I did get to put #1 GS on the bus last year while on a babysitting day.

Judd, Emilio, Ally, Molly & Anthony. I love Ally in Short Circuit best. I took one back to college the end of July (he works at the dorms, so, had to be there really early). The other graduated college in May, moved back home, and found a job. Woohoo! I was thinking about you a few weeks ago. You've been missed!

So glad to have you back! I don't think I've ever actually seen the Breakfast Club, but knew all about it. Is the other picture from that too? It kind of looks like Kindergarten Cop to me.

I just sent my second off to Kindergarten so now I have two in school and one at home. I was worried that the little one (not yet one) was going to have a tough time adjusting, but she loves her freedom--no big brother or sister to get right in her face. Even before I had kids Fall is the time when my "on" switch seems to get flipped and I do so much more than almost any other time.

Great to have you back!

My grandson started first grade and my grand daughter is off to seventh grade in a new (to her) regional school. My daughter was ready. It was a rough summer.
Glad to see you back.

Glad to have you back. Missed you. My grandchildren range from 11 down to 5. Don't get to see them often enough.

Welcome back, Annie! You've been missed!! Lilli started kindergarten this fall, and I get to pick her up from school one day a week, so I get to sit in the car-riders line again. Emmy is attending Project Help, which is basically preschool with a therapy emphasis to help with her hearing issues. She goes two mornings a week and is making great strides! She loves music and likes to draw - and it looks like she's going to be a lefty!
