**Answer...after a few more paragraph.
Valentine's Day is coming around the corner pretty fast. Did you know that it's one of the most celebrated holidays around the world? Yet, for some people it can seem too overpowered with "Sweet-Hearts". Single people can feel lonely as advertising seems to focus on couples. Even couples can feel it's a struggle to go out on special dates because everything is so crowded.
Possibly changing things up a bit, celebrating in our *own* way, could lift the spirits of some that otherwise say "bah-humbug" to Valentine's Day. We could change the focus a little on the "original" Valentine's Day theme.
Below are a few ideas that I found out on the Internet. You will probably read them and come up with even more ideas that would be uniquely your own.
~ ~A single girl could invite friends over and watch a chick-flick, or two.
Have each person bring a wrapped gift and trade.
---------------------------
~ ~You could invite nieces or nephews or grandchildren over to make heart shapedcookies. Maybe go even further and deliver to someone who could use cheering up
-----------------------------
~ ~Make cards for friends and/or loved ones, writing notes about how much you
appreciate them. In addition to the card, you could insert a little gift card.
-----------------------------
~ ~As a couple, my husband and I don't go out on Valentine's Day or the weekend
nearby. But, we do go out to eat to celebrate sometime around Valentine's day.
You can choose a day that is YOUR Valentine's date!
-----------------------------
~ ~If you are single, maybe there is someone you know that could use a special visit
during the Valentine week or month. You could go to lunch together...or maybe bring
lunch to them and watch a fun movie...or just visit.
------------------------------
Anyway, you get the idea. Valentine's Day doesn't just have to be a day for "star-struck lovers". It could be an opportunity to share our heart...in whatever way we can.
What do you all do for Valentine's day? Anything fun? or is it a day you'd just wish would hurry on by? LOL
---different in the banner this month...I'm at my sewing machine!...changing the banner's FOCUS a little. I've decided (at least for a little while) to get back to making quilts. I know that I can't totally stick to one hobby. I'll have to veer off the track, probably every day a little. But, I'd like to TRY to stay focused enough this year to finish a quilt each month. We'll see how it goes...wish me luck!
This definitely is a good sign for me! LOL

Those are some great ideas to make V-day better for someone! And I'm so glad to see you back at your sewing machine again! Pretty quilt on the wall, too….
Where exactly do troublemakers come from? I have been one all my life.
Good suggestions. I was thinking the other day that whatever I'm feeling as a widow, doubtless there are other women around me feeling the same and so I bought a kit at Target to make some cute cards and mail them out to those who don't have a sweetheart to give them a card any more.
I second what Sharon said and it is nice to see you blogging again.
You need to send me a heart for the blog contest. sandie
Cute banner! Makes me smile. Happy (early) Valentine's Day to one of my favorite friends...ever. :)
